Al-Muwatta Institute offers a comprehensive Arabic and Islamic Studies course.

You can expect your child to receive and achieve a good level of knowledge and understanding of the range of subjects studied.  Below are an outline of what is expected for each child to be achieve during each year;

Reception

Simple Steps in Quran Reading (Qa’idah)

  • Joining short words

Memorisation of short chapters from the Quran (Hifz)

  • Tayyibah, Shahadah with English meaning

Arabic Language

Islamic Studies

  • Meaning of first Kalimah, Shahadah,
  • Names of Allah, Names of Prophets
  • Aqeedah: Belief in Allah (swt) and introduction to Prophet Mohammad

  • al-Fatiha, al-Lahab, al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, al-Nas, al-Feel, al-Quraish, al-Ma’oon, al-Kawsar, al-Kafiroon, al-Nasr

Basic supplications and prayers

  • Tayyibah, Shahadah, Mujmal, Mufassal, Inni wajjahtu, Thana Tamjeed, Tawheed, Tashahood, Durood 1&2, Ma’thurat, Qunoot, Tasbeehat of Salah
  • Basic duas/ supplications for children

  • Timing of Salah, Salah when Forbidden, Pre-conditions of Salah, Pillars of Salah
  • Salah Practice

Arabic Language

  • Arabic adjectives and occupations
  • Arabic Numbers
  • Memorisation of Nominative Personal Pronouns
  • Conversational Arabic
  • Arabic Grammar- The Indefinite and the Definite Noun, The Moon Letters, The Sun Letters, The Masculine and the Feminine Gender, The Arabic Name and recognition of the Vowel and Nunation Signs (fatha, dommah, kasrah, kasratyn,dommatyn, fathatyn)

  • Acts of Tayammum and Tayammum when Permissible
  • Wajibaat of Salah, Sunnah of Salah, Mufsidaat of Salah, Sijdah of Sahw, Sijdah Tilawah
  • Salah Practice

Arabic Language

  • Vocabularies and Arabic vocabularies in plural form
  • Cardinal Numbers (Masculine & Feminine)
  • Arabic Grammar, Memorisation of Noun Compositions, Memorisation of demonstrative nouns (near and far), Recognition of all attached pronouns (singular, dual and plural), Singular Noun and its Declension (Nominative, Accusative and Genitive), Adjectival Phrase (singular)
  • Conversational Arabic

Year Six

  • Salah- Jumu’ah, Eidayn, Taraweeh, Tahajjud, Janazah, Musafir
  • Salah Practice- Five daily prayers and Practical demonstrations of the new prayers learnt

Arabic Language

  • Practical application of numbers
  • Present tense ‘pure’ verbs
  • Conversational Arabic
  • Arabic Grammar- Adjectival Phrase (Singular, Dual, Plural), Using Demonstrative Nouns, Using Prepositions, Using attached pronouns and Noun Composition using Sound and Broken Plural

Islamic Studies

  • Key Principles of Islam

 

Essential Training Curriculum YEAR 7 SYLLABUS (2 year course)

Quran

  • Fluent Quran recitation
  • Tajweed: Enforcing and incorporating all tajweed rules learnt
  • Surah: Revision of all surahs memorized

Fiqh

  • Re-emphasize importance of salah
  • Fiqh of Salah
  • Fiqh of Purification

Arabic Language

  • Conversational Arabic
  • Study of past tense “pure” verbs, Study of possessive words, Using past, present and command tenses

Mentoring

  • Students will be mentors and act as role models for younger pupils and will have opportunities to arrange and deliver child friendly activities
  • *To develop key skills in communication, decision-making, leadership, organization and planning skills etc consolidated through studies acquired through the years studied at Al-Muwatta
